Therapy for Couples and Families
Who is this for?
Your family might be struggling to navigate questions about identity, loyalty, trauma, or loss; you may be trying to better understand your adult child’s needs, or learn better conflict management skills with your partner. You might feel like you’re doing it all, and you might be exhausted.
If you are an adoptee seeking to reconnect, an adoptive or first parent hoping seeking to understand, a couple seeking to better communicate on gridlocked issues, or if you’re simply wanting to explore the ways adoption has impacted your relationships, this is a space for you.
How can therapy help?
Topics we may explore include:
Parenting children who have experienced trauma
Stress management
Navigating difficult conversations about adoption
Parent/adult child relationships
Conflict management
Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries
My goal is to create a supportive environment for growth, connection, skill development, and communication.
What is it like to work with me?
You are the expert on your experience, and this guiding principle is central to our work together. I have an understanding and deep respect for the complexities of adoption and the unique needs that adoptive families and adoptees often have in relationships, and will keep this at the center of our work as we collaborate to develop skills, increase connection, and work together to find a way forward that makes sense for your relationship.
Fees/Insurance
Though I currently only offer self-pay services, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, though this varies by plan (I encouraged you to check with your provider first).
How do I get started?
If you're wondering whether we're a good fit, I'd love to meet with you for a free consultation.
