Hello! I’m Carolyn.
Carolyn Abrahamzon, LPC (SC, CO; Telehealth-only in ID, FL)
If you're here, you may be carrying questions about identity, belonging, loss, or relationships that don't always have easy answers. Whether you're navigating reunion, parenting, or simply trying to make sense of experiences that have shaped your life, you don't have to do it alone.
I provide virtual therapy for adults and couples in South Carolina, Florida, and Idaho, with a specialty in adoption-related experiences, trauma, attachment, and relationships.
As an adoptee, I bring both lived experience and specialized clinical training to this work. I've completed the National Training Initiative (NTI) through the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) and have volunteered in adoptee support and advocacy efforts. Together, these experiences help me offer therapy that is informed, affirming, and grounded in an understanding of the lifelong impact adoption can have.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and centered on helping you better understand yourself and move toward the life and relationships you want.
Clients often come to me because they're...
Wondering where they belong or who they are
Processing the lifelong impact of adoption
Navigating reunion, grief, or complicated family relationships
Hoping to build healthier, more connected relationships
Looking for a therapist who understands adoption without needing to explain every detail
My practice offers:
Adoptee-centered, trauma-informed therapy
Individual and family counseling for ages 14+
Couples therapy, including Gottman Method-informed approaches
Brainspotting for trauma and emotional processing
Secure virtual therapy throughout South Carolina, Florida, and Idaho
