Hello! I’m Carolyn.
Nice to meet you! My name is Carolyn Abrahamzon. I’m a Licensed Profession Counselor providing virtual mental health counseling in South Carolina through secure telehealth.
I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and adults impacted by adoption-related experiences, including identity concerns, grief and loss, attachment wounds, relational challenges, and complex trauma.
As an adoptee, I bring both personal and professional understanding to this work. In addition to my clinical training, I have volunteer and advocacy experience supporting adoptees and adoptee-centered reform efforts. This perspective informs my commitment to providing care that is informed, affirming, and responsive to the unique needs of adopted adults.
For couples, I incorporate principles from The Gottman Method, a research-based approach to strengthening relationships. This method focuses on helping partners understand the patterns that create conflict and disconnection while building skills that foster trust, emotional safety, and deeper connection with a goal of not simply stopping conflict, but helping partners better understand each other and create a relationship that feels more supportive, respectful, and secure.
I also offer Brainspotting, a brain-based, trauma-focused modality that can help process and resolve deeply held emotional and physiological experiences. Whether you’re seeking support related to adoption, trauma, or life transitions, my goal is to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, integration, and greater self-understanding. You can learn more about Brainspotting here.
I’m looking forward to speaking with you!
